K S Oils announced a phenomenal rise in its standalone net profit for the first quarter ended June 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 73.74% to Rs. 410.20 million from Rs. 236.10 million in the same quarter, previous year.
The company posted earnings of Rs. 1.23 a share during the quarter, registering 88.48% decline over prior year period.
Net sales for the quarter jumped 89.10% to Rs. 6,927.40 million, while total income for the quarter jumped 89.37% to Rs. 6,961.30 million, when compared with the prior year period.

During the quarter, interest cost increased 34.62% to Rs. 119 million while depreciation cost rose 2 times to Rs 51.10 million over previous year period.
Shares of the company gained Rs. 2.25, or 3.85%, to settle at Rs. 60.75. The total volume of shares traded was 3,484,677 at the BSE (Monday). |
